Maoist leader arrested in Bihar
June 7th, 2010 - 8:37 pm ICT by ANIGaya (Bihar), June 7 (ANI): The Bihar Police arrested a Maoist leader in Bihar’s Gaya District on Monday.
Acting on a tip off, a team of local police personnel raided Alpa village under the Konch police station here and apprehended Maoist zonal commander Rajendra Paswan alias Paras.
Paras is wanted in several cases registered in various districts of the state.
“Maoist leader Rajendra Paswan alias Paras has been arrested from Konch police station area. He is wanted in several cases. He is wanted in 13 cases in Rohtas district and in several other cases in Gaya, Aurangabad and Jehanabad districts,” said Amit Lodha, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Gaya.
Earlier on June 3, the security personnel had gunned down two Maoists in an encounter at Baghail forest area in Bihar’s Munger District. (ANI)
