Maoist explode bomb in SAIL mine in Orissa
November 20th, 2009 - 6:52 pm ICT by ANIMeghatpu (Orissa), Nov 20 (ANI): Maoist activists on Friday exploded a bomb in a Steel Authority of India (SAIL) mine here on Friday.
The rebels reportedly also planted another bomb at Kiribur mine along the Orissa-Jharkhand border.
According to senior SAIL officials, a group of armed Maoists stormed into the loading point in Meghatpur mines on the Orissa side and exploded a bomb damaging the conveyor belt.
The loading and unloading of iron ore was severely affected at Meghatpur the officials added.
In another similar incident the ultras planted a bomb in the conveyor belt in Kiribur mines on the Jharkhand side, but it did not explode.
The bomb disposal squads of the police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) defused the bomb. (ANI)
