Manmohan Singh to open India Economic Summit on Sunday

New Delhi, Nov 6 (ANI): Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the three-day India Economic Summit here on Sunday.
The agenda for the Summit will focus on how to ensure India’s aspiration to emerge as one of the world’s four largest economies by 2020, skill development, financial empowerment of the poor and development of female talent.
This year’s Summit has set a new record for total participation with over 800 leaders from industry, government, civil society and academia from over 40 countries.
The theme of the Summit is “India’s Next Generation of Growth.
Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Home Minister P. Chidambaram, Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Deora, Transport Minister Kamal Nath will participate in the event.
Besides, business leaders Chanda Kochhar (ICICI Bank), Indra Nooyi (PepsiCo-U.S.), Shumeet Banerji (Booz and Company-U.K.), Carlos Ghosn (Renault-France) will also participate in the event. (ANI)
