Mohali, Mar. 30 (ANI): The dishes to be served at Wednesday’s dinner to be held mid-way through the World Cup semi-final match between India and Pakistan is likely to include some spicy fare, including Gosht Barra, Tawa Ki Machhi, Tandoori Salmon and Chops Biryani.
The list of dishes for vegetarians includes Shahi Idlis, Subz Biryani, Bhindi Naintara and much more.
The desserts include a mouth-watering Gulukand Ka Kalakand and Kesari Phirni.
The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, who is on a frugal diet on health grounds, has opted for low-oil food — spinach and dal.
The dinner will be hosted at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium complex around 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday night.
Around 30 dignitaries, including the two Prime Ministers, senior members of their delegations, and governors and chief ministers of Punjab and Haryana, a few Union Ministers and top cricket officials are expected to attend the dinner.
Meanwhile, another dinner has been simultaneously organized in another hall of the Punjab Cricket Association complex itself for the remaining 300-plus VIPs.
The dinner was arranged by Hotel Taj in Chandigarh. But for security reasons each item was put through a microbiology test before it was served to the guests. (ANI)
