London, Nov.14 (ANI): Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has backed the Football Associations crackdown on drug cheats.
Ferdinand, who was banned for eight months in 2003 for missing a dope test, said: I think it sounds fair. If it brings us up to the level of all the other sportsmen then Im in favour. Its good. We get tested quite a lot anyway. A lot of players get tested three or four times a season so it would be no different to what were used to, The Sun quoted him as saying. If the powers-that-be say moving to a new level and revealing where we are in advance is the right thing to do, then well get on with it, he added. Whatever rules there are out there you have to deal with it. You have to make sure youre there to be tested and you have to let people know where youre going to be. Simple as that, he said. (ANI)
