Bhopal, Dec 22 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh is going to form a high level committee that will review the security situation every three months, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said Monday.Chouhan was addressing a convention of senior police officials of the state.
The issue of modernising and equipping the cops with advanced weapons besides upgrading the control rooms and improving police-public ratio came up for discussions at the convention.
The decision to set up the high-level committee was also taken at the day-long convention.
“I will personally head the committee whose other members will include the state’s home minister and director general of police,” Chouhan told reporters after the convention.
Admitting that there was a need to strengthen the police force in view of increasing population, the chief minister said that a new legislation will be brought in the State assembly. The legislation, he said, pertains to making it mandatory for landlords and hotel owners to share the information with the police about their tenants or guests.
