London, October 26 (ANI): Madonna has reportedly been given the go-head to adopt Malawian girl Mercy James.

The Queen of Pop had earlier dropped her adoption plans after having a row of arguments with the Brit director.

However, reps from Madonnas charity Raising Malawi are said to have visited Mercys grandmother Lucy Chekechiwa and adoption officials in September.

The 50-year-old, who has three children including her adopted Malawian son, David Banda, aged three, had chosen her would-be-daughter back in 2006.

Madonna does not want to give up on Mercy because she is the one who caught her eye back in 2006, the Daily Star quoted an insider from her charity Raising Malawi, as saying.

She told us that if she gives up on Mercy and started looking for a replacement it will be like head-hunting for kids, which she believes is unethical, the insider added.

Mercys grandfather Saxon Maude revealed to sources that he was certain the adoption would now go through and couldnt be happier.

A source said: He thinks that Madonna will have Mercy living with her by the New Year. (ANI)
