According to Additional Director General of Police (Crime) A K Jain, the bomb seemed to be similar to the one which exploded inside the dargah complex on Thursday.

The bomb found near the main gate has been defused, Jain added.

The police are still searching the dargah complex.

A team of National Security Guards has also arrived at Ajmer dargah to examine the site, Jain said.

Personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) and the police are keeping a strict vigil across the city, even as people went about their day-to-day routines.

Earlier in the day, two people were reportedly arrested in connection with the Thursday’s blast.

According to sources, both hail from Bangladesh.

As the investigation is under progress, a bag suspected to have been holding the bomb was also recovered. Fragments of a mobile phone were found from the site.

A sketch of the suspects is expected to be released by the police today.

The attack came on the eve of Juma’t Al’Vida, the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramzan.

The blast took place at around 6:15 p.m., when people were readying themselves to break their daylong fast that is observed during the holy month of Ramzan. (ANI)
