Lewis Hamilton determined not to blow away his title dream againOctober 10th, 2008 - 12:06 pm ICT by ANI
London, Oct.10 (ANI): Formula One ace Lewis Hamilton has said that he has no intention of blowing away his title dream again.
The British ace, 23, has admitted he was not ready to win the world championship last season in his rookie year.
Hamilton is convinced he has got what it takes now to convert his seven-point lead into title glory with just three Grands prix to go.
The McLaren racer, preparing for Sunday’’s Japanese Grand Prix, was quoted by The Sun as saying: “Last year I was a little bit younger and so excited by the fact that I had just arrived in F1. So much was going on, the controversies, and so much to learn and take on board. I was leading here in Japan but I did not understand the magnitude of the situation I was in and what was around me and the pressure that was on my shoulders. I dealt with it the best way I could, and it wasn”t the best.”
“But I learned from those mistakes and I come here this year having taking a big step in my personal life as a grown up and as a driver. I think I have matured as a driver and worked as hard as I can to improve in all areas. Just as a driver, in this part of the season, I feel a lot stronger than I did last year in terms of my state of mind and my fitness,” he added.
Hamilton is battling with Raikkonen’’s team-mate Felipe Massa this time but can afford to finish second to the Brazilian in the remaining races and still win the title. (ANI)
