February 15th, 2010 - 2:20 pm ICT by ANITiruvallur (Tamil Nadu), Feb 15 (ANI): Karnataka High Court Chief Justice P D Dinakaran, who is facing allegations of corruption and land encroachment, did not meet the officials of Survey of India on Monday to tell his version of the case. But it was his wife, who spoke on his behalf.
The officials of the Survey of India were to meet Dinakaran in the Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu today to hear his version of the case.
Survey of India has completed mapping of the disputed area and would also meet the District Collector and the other villagers in this regard.
The District Collector, in his report to the Chief Justice of India, has reportedly accused Dinakaran of grabbing 199 acres of government land.Even though the Judge has contradicted it, an impeachment motion against him is underway in the Parliament.
The Chennai-based Forum for Judicial Accountability (FJA) had requested Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari to reconstitute the three-member committee to probe the charges against Karnataka High Court Chief Justice P.D. Dinakaran as contained in the proceedings initiated in Parliament for his removal.
The committee was appointed on January 15 under the Judges Inquiry Act. (ANI)
