Amritsar, Dec.27 (ANI): Lakhwinder Wadalis grandfather Thakur Dass Wadali was a famous vocalist of his time whose two sons formed India’’s most celebrated Sufi Qawali duo, the Wadali brothers. And, today he has decided to carry forward this musical legacy and touch hearts all around.
Lakhwinder Wadali is today known for his singing which is stated to have a fine blend of classical and contemporary music.
Lakhwinder says that he inherited love for music from his family. Music is in my blood. I used to sing when I was a child. My father used to ask me to sing songs. I remember a song of Noorjahan, which used to be aired by Lahore radio. My grandfather used to listen to that song with me everyday. I also learnt the entire song. Son of legendary Ustad Puran Chand Wadali, Lakhwinder tells that these songs could not be promoted and did not reach many people. But whoever heard these songs, really liked them. Then I decided to take up singing as a career, he said.
Lakhwinder values hard work and advocated remembering its worth in all phases of life.
If we talk about hard work, all accomplished people have said that hard work always brings good results. I believe we should never forget the value of hard work even if we are facing a good or bad time. If one works hard in bad times the almighty God takes him on the path of success. According to me, hard work never goes in vain, says Lakhwinder.
Asked about his start, Lakhwinder said: It was during a Reality Show Junoon Kuch Kar Dikhane Ka”, a singing competition on television that I got a chance to participate in it. I interacted with many people there. Considering my talent, somebody there decided to make a Punjabi film with me.
The film has a meaningful message. The name of the film is ”Jashn Maniye Sare” and its basic concept is female foeticide and why girls cant get recognition in society. There are many parents who kill girls before their birth, so the film is based on this subject. The film has all the emotions; it has comedy, sorrow and everything, Lakhwinder revealed. (ANI)
