Kurram Agency warring tribes ink peace pact

Murree (Pakistan), Oct.16 (ANI): A peace agreement has finally been signed between warring tribes in Kurram agency to end the fighting which has claimed thousands of lives over the past year.
According to The News, the tribes have submitted Rs.20 million each to the government as surety and decided to convert the temporary ceasefire into a permanent one.
They have also agreed to the exchange of hostages after handing over bunkers to the scouts. Villages occupied during fighting will be returned to the respective factions besides allowing supply of goods to the upper Kurram.
Under the agreement all roads in Kurram agency that have been closed for over a year will now be reopened.
The Frontier Constabulary will remain in the agency.
Both sides have also agreed to return bodies of people who died during the fighting. (ANI)
