Sydney, Nov 11 (ANI): Australias new found spin-sensation Jason Kreja has said that after taking 12 crucial wickets in his debut Nagpur Test against India, he didnt want to let the chance to play a long innings in Test cricket go away easily.

He said that the dozen wickets came as a surprise for him, and that he was an improvised bowler after the India series. He said now he was looking forward to the next Test series against New Zealand.

Now I”m looking forward, hopefully to the next Test series and to new things in front of me. Once you get a chance in Test cricket you don”t want to let it go. It’’s pretty unbelievable really. I haven”t realised the exact extent of what I”ve done yet I don”t think. It probably won”t be until I go home and look at it on paper and have a really good think about it so it’’s still trying to sink in., quoted him as saying.

Krejza’’s performance in Nagpur surprised everyone - with good reason. With a first-class bowling average of 50 and a place at the fringes of Tasmania’’s team seemed flimsy reason to choose him for the tour, yet he finished up outperforming every member of the Australian attack except Mitchell Johnson (13 wickets) in the space of one Test, added the report.

He said he learnt a lost from former Indian spinner Bishen Singh Bedi. The chat with Bishen Bedi gave me a lot of information and I”m definitely a much better bowler than I was when I got here. I was getting used to these wickets for one, getting a real good bowl out in the nets and working with Ricky and all the guys in our team with how to bowl, Krejza said.

Krejza seems sure to get the chance to maintain his astonishing progress against New Zealand, at least in the second Test at spin-friendly Adelaide Oval.

On a Bellerive Oval wicket that offers seam and swing, the Tasmanians have chosen four seamers plus allrounders Luke Butterworth and Daniel Marsh in Krejza’’s absence. (ANI)
