Kharge lays foundation stone of ESIC Nursing College in Bangalore
February 4th, 2011 - 9:30 pm ICT by ANIBangalore, Feb 4 (ANI) Union Labour and Employment Minister Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday laid the foundation stone of Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Nursing College and Auditorium at ESI Hospital, Indiranagar, in Bangalore.
Speaking on the occasion, Kharge said that the ESIC is committed to work for the welfare of workers and improvement in their quality of life and for providing all possible social security to them.
“For providing the best Medical Education to the masses, the ESI corporation is going to construct this important project at Indiranagar,” he added.
“As part of the Rajajinagar Medical Education complex, this project is envisaged as a Nursing College for 25 annual admissions and a 1000 seater auditorium,” he said.
He further said that the Nursing College/Hostel project will have state of the art facilities including a separate reception cum waiting hall for Hostel and College, Dining, Reception/Reading room, administrative areas, lecture theatres, laboratories and multipurpose hall.
“The Auditorium project will have a capacity of 1000 persons, reception/pre-function area/VIP lobby. The total build up area of this project is around 16000 sqm and will be completed in 12 months. The estimated cost of this project is around Rs. 82.00 crores,” he added.
ESI corporation has started providing services to the insured persons through its upgraded and modified hospitals and is also adopting policy for providing medical benefits as per the need and choice of insured persons anywhere in India.
The corporation is also entering into tie-up arrangements with other hospitals on cashless basis. The Corporation itself is bearing the entire cost of super specialty treatment and ensures that no bill from tie up hospital is kept pending and in the process has spent about Rs. 151 crores in last one year.
The ESI now owns a huge infrastructure and provides benefit through 147 Hospitals, 42 Hospitals Annexes, 1402 ESI Dispensaries. (ANI)
