Kochi, Dec 13 (ANI): The ongoing Copenhagen climate change Summit has encouraged a daily wage head loader in Kerala, to swim with tied hands and legs.
P.G Santosh achieved this unique feat on Saturday, and said, he did it to create awareness about water pollution in the state and also to create a new record.
Santosh swam from Varzhapurzha to the Ernakulam High Court Boat Jetty.
He successfully completed the 13 kilometre long stretch along the Kochi backwaters in around four hours.
Santosh, an amateur swimmer, loves adventure and had set many records before attempting this latest one.
A head load worker at the Food Corporation of India’s Angamaly depot, Santosh described water pollution as a major threat to long term human welfare. (ANI)
