Kazmi removed as Kasab’s lawyer
November 30th, 2009 - 3:31 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Nov 30 (ANI): Mohammad Ajmal Kasab’s lawyer, Abbas Kazmi has been removed from his job for not cooperating with the court.
This will further delay the trial on 26/11-terror suspect Kasab.
Public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam alleged that the court is upset with Kazmi, as he was not prepared with his briefs for today.
A new lawyer will be appointed soon and the case will start afresh.
Last week, Kazmi was allowed to continue after he apologized to the court.
Special Judge M L Tahaliyani had put a question mark on his continuation, finding him guilty of lying.
While closing the case of the prosecution, Ujjwal Nikam had submitted a formal list of witnesses whose affidavits would be submitted and won’t be called in for interrogation.
Kazmi denied having any knowledge of the list.
After his apology, the judge had withdrawn the comment calling him a liar. (ANI)
