Srinagar, June 8 (ANI): Residents of Jammu and Kashmir state have welcomed the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh’s, proposal of looking at all possible measures to reinforce links between people on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC).
“This is a good proposal by the Prime Minister and I feel that political parties of Kashmir like Hurriyat, National Conference and PDP should sit together and talk to the government. We welcome this proposal,” said Mohammad Asif.
“Separatists should come forward because talks are the only solution of this problem otherwise this problem will not be solved. This problem is going on for the last 50 years and no solution has been given till now,” said Tufail Ahmed.
They also demand strict action against people involved in terror activities.
“All the people involved in spreading terrorism should be punished stringently. It will keep the people of Kashmir safe and secure,” said Fauzan Ali.
This is Dr. Singh’s second visit to Jammu and Kashmir after being reelected as Prime Minister for a second consecutive term in the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government. He visited Srinagar last October. (ANI)
