August 16th, 2010 - 9:30 pm ICT by ANISrinagar, Aug. 16 (ANI): Barring a few incidents of stone-pelting in Srinagar district in which five policeman and three civilians were injured, the situation across the Kashmir Valley by and large remained peaceful on Monday.
In one of the incidents, a man suffered leg-injury when an unruly mob that had blocked the National Highway and was indulging in heavy stone pelting at Tengpora, Bypass, Srinagar was chased away by the police and security forces, said an official release.
However, in another incident of stone pelting at Alochi Bagh in Srinagar where an unruly mob pelted stones, the police had to resort to baton charging and firing tear gas shells to quell the crowd.
A woman, Nayema, suffered injuries in the incident but her condition is reported to be stable.
Meanwhile, at Shalimar Chowk of Srinagar a mob blocked the road. The mob was chased away in which one lady Sayeeda fell down but soon shifted to SKIMS in unconscious state.
She later regained her consciousness. (ANI)
