Kasab’s effigy to be burnt in Indore and Kanpur
September 28th, 2009 - 7:06 pm ICT by ANIIndore / Kanpur, Sep 28 (ANI): Locals in Indore will burn an effigy Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone surviving attacker of last November’s terror strike on Mumbai instead of an effigy of demon king Ravana during the Dussehra festival on Monday.
Dussehra marks the triumph of good over evil. According to Hindu mythology, on this day Lord Rama killed Ravana.
In celebration of Ravana’s defeat effigies of Ravana, his brother Kumbhakaran and son Meghnad are burnt.
An effigy of Kasab holding an AK 47 will be put up in the Dussehra grounds here.
The people of Kanpur will also burn Kasab’s effigy, as according to them, he represents evil.
“In the present scenario, when terrorism is spreading throughout the whole country, we are burning an effigy of Ajmal Kasab in the form of Ravana,” said Lucky Chhabra, one of the organisers of the function. (ANI)
