Karunanidhi raises Sri Lankan Tamils’ rehabilitation issue with Sonia Gandhi

Chennai, Oct.9 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi on Saturday reiterated his party’s demand to resettle the war displaced Tamils living in camps in Sri Lanka at the earliest.
He said the Sri Lankan government should be asked to start the political process without further delay.
The Chief Minister had a brief meeting with Sonia Gandhi at the Air Port in Chennai, while she was on her way to Puducherry.
Referring to the recent visit of Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao to Sri Lanka, Karunanidhi said she herself had put the number of Tamils in camps at 30,000.
The figure could be more, the Chief Minister mentioned. (ANI)
