Bangalore, Feb 10 (ANI): Karnataka police on Sunday claimed to have solved the 2005 IISc terror attack case with the arrest of six Lashkar-e-Toiba militants suspected to be behind the shootout.
The six LeT men, including two from Pakistan, were arrested in Bareily and Lucknow on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference here today, Karnataka Director General of Police KR Srinivasan said Sallahuddin, a resident of Madhubani in Bihar, was behind the IISc attack.
He said Karnataka police is requesting its UP counterpart to hand over the six militants for further investigation.
On December 28, 2005, Professor M C Puri from Delhi was killed and four others were injured in a shootout at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. The city was put on high alert following the shooting, in which AK-47s were used. (ANI)
