Bangalore, Jan 29(ANI): Union Law and Justice Minister Veerappa Moily on Saturday said that the present Karnataka government headed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the “most transparent corrupt government” in the country.
Addressing the media in Bangalore, Moily said: in Karnataka we have “the most transparent corrupt government” as compared to the rest of the States in the Country and the world.
He said that in Karnataka corrupt transactions are made, there was nepotism. The transaction, he pointed out, were made by means of bank drafts, by means of bank transactions, by means of open favours of the government. They were “all on record in the naked eye of any citizen of the country.”
“It does not require any CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) investigation; the same thing with regard to mining,” he added.
Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has been accused of misusing his post and patronizing rampant corruption like allotting state-owned land plots to his kith and kin.
The State government had ordered a judicial probe into all land transactions that have been conducted over the past two decades, but its report is awaited.
Earlier, Karnataka Governor H.R. Bhardwaj had approved prosecution of Yeddyurappa in the land scam case filed by two lawyers.
A press communique issued by the Governor’s Secretariat had said that Bhardwaj had passed the order under section 19(1) of Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 197 of Criminal Procedure Code for prosecution in an appropriate court of law. (ANI)
