Palamu (Jharkhand), Oct.19 (ANI): Jharkhand police set up a medical camp and distributed free medicines to villagers in the Maoist-affected Palamu district recently, as a confidence building measure.

The programme was organized to gain trust of the tribals and to take their help in combating Naxalism in the region.

“We have arranged a medical camp for the poor. The government doctors have come here to treat patients and we are also giving medicines to them. Corporate houses are also providing doctors and medicines as well,” said T. Mathew, Superintendent of Police, Palamu.

Hundreds of locals and children have visited the medical camp where they were given free treatment and medicines.

“Administration is providing us medical treatment and medicines. They are treating us well. We are happy with it. Yes, there should be such medical camps often. This is the first time that this has been organised,” Balgovind, a resident. (ANI)
