Jeannie Mulford shares her experience as a cancer survivor

“I learn that early detection of cancer can save your life. Do self-examination, take the time off from your busy schedule and save the money for the test,” Jeannie said.

The function was organised by US embasy to spread awareness on breast cancer.

There are approximately 1.2 million new breast cancer cases globally every year, of which 75 percent are from developing countries.

A report of the International Agency for Research on Cancer, part of the World Health Organisation, says approximately 79,000 women per year were affected by breast cancer in India in 2001 and over 80,000 women in 2002. (ANI)
