The visas will be issued at Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata airports.
There is some relaxation given to tourists who use India as a hub and visit the neighbouring countries.
The government has instructed Visa Issuing Authority to relax the sixty-day period of break and allow up to three entries into India, in cases where the schedule shows visits to India and other countries as part of the same trip,
For other tourists visiting India, there has to be a gap of sixty days from the day of departure from the country to apply for another tourist visa.
Bangalore and Chandigarh residents would be the first beneficiaries of the e-governance project that guarantees the issuance of passports within three days of the police verifications of the applicant. (ANI)
