Jaipur, Sep 5 (ANI): The oldest tiger in Jaipur Zoo has died following a cardiac arrest.
According to zoo authorities, 24-year-old Ramu came out of his cage for a stroll in the morning, but soon collapsed after ambling some distance.
Authorities rushed to his enclosure after observing his motionless state for a few minutes.
A post mortem was carried out by three veterinary doctors who confirmed heart failure as the reason for death.
It was a dismal sight for enthusiastic visitors who came to the zoo to get a glimpse of the ageing big cat.
“When we had come here the last time, the entire zoo used to shake up with his growl. But now, we are feeling awkward in his absence. He was the oldest among the animals, like their grandfather. So, we are feeling sad that he is no more. We are feeling as if something is missing here,” said Ritu, a visitor.
Ramu, was born in the same zoo in 1986. He was a major crowd puller in Rajasthan because of his record age. (ANI)
