Jaipur, May 28 (ANI): The recent serial blast that left people in Jaipur shocked for some time, has failed to affect the spirit and strong fraternal relations shared between Hindus and Muslims.
For centuries, Hindus and Muslim have lived here in complete harmony, sharing festive occasions, trade and a common culture as one big family.
More than anything, the blasts, which killed 68 people and injured over 200 individuals, showcased how humanity defeated the malicious motives of terror mongers.
“In Jaipur, Hindus and Muslims share a strong bond of relation. One can notice it even in business relations or social relations. People from both the communities cannot live without each other. Like in the famous Lac bangles trade, mostly Muslims are involved. But its major customers belong to Hindu community. It holds a significance for them, as they lac bangles are symbolic of their religion,” said Khalid Usmani, a Muslim cleric.
People are happy that the blasts failed to trigger any animosity between Hindus and Muslims here.
“This incident happened out of the blue and for the first time in Jaipur. But despite that, nowhere conflict relating to religions arose. It was solely related to humanity, and wherever people saw any individual in pain, they went ahead to help him irrespective of his religion, said Mohammad Salim, a local resident.
They just rendered their services voluntarily. This common sentiment prevailed throughout the city. Although government was very scared as they feared communal riots. They imposed curfew as well, but nothing of this sort was witnessed anywhere in Jaipur,” Salim added.
Jaipur has always been known for the feeling of brotherhood among all communities.
“For us, all regardless of their religious identity are equal. We dont have any bias for any religion. We buy stuff fromthem and so do they. There is no difference of any sort,” said Sanjay, another resident. (ANI)
