Italian Deputy PM arrives in India on a four-day visit

Massimo d’Alema met Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday and is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee.

He is expected to discuss bilateral, regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest.

After talks in New Delhi, Massimo will head towards the Taj Mahal in Agra and then move to Mumbai to address captains of industry.

In February this year, Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi visited India. Italy is India’s fourth largest trading partner in the European Union. (ANI)
