Israeli observers arrive in Nepal to monitor CA polls

Kathmandu, Apr 8 (ANI): An election observation team from Israel arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday to monitor the crucial April 10 Constitution Assembly elections.

The Israeli Embassy said in a statement that this was a historic opportunity for the people of Nepal to consolidate the peace process and to create a democratic, inclusive future for their country.

The Israeli team headed by Micha Odenheimer consists of 23 people from an Israeli NGO and two Embassy officials.

The team includes 18 Israelis, three citizens each from England, and the US, one from Canada.

The team will be observing the election mainly in Dolakha district, nepalnews.com reported.

It would be the teams first experience of election observation. The team is deeply committed to fulfil its responsibility and, thus, contributing to the success of this historic election, the statement said. (ANI)
