Auckland , June 11 (ANI): A middle-aged Indian woman, whose husband was shot dead five days ago at a liquor shop where he worked, lost her grandfather yesterday. The old man reportedly died of immense grief he went through after learning about the killing of his grandson-in-law.

According to the stuff.co.nz, even as the Auckland Police is yet to nab the killers of Harjinder Kaurs husband Navej Singh, her grandfather Jagir Singh died of grief and shock.

Daljit Singh of the New Zealand Sikh Society said that Jagir Singh’s death was almost certainly a result of stress from the shooting of his grandson-in-law. He was already very ill and the family didn’t want to tell him what happened. But a child in the family told him and caused him a lot of grief. He was taken to another property for two or three days and he died there. I’ve been told he didn’t stop crying until he died, he said.

Jagir Singhs funeral is planned for Friday, the day after Harjinder Kaur farewells her husband, added the report.

As per the records of CCTVs fitted at Riverton Liquor Store which Navtej co-owned in the Randwick Park district of Manurewa, three robbers wearing full masks shot in the chest on Saturday at 9.00 p.m

He died in hospital the next day.

Meanwhile, the police claimed that Navtejs family and friends knew the identity of the man who shot and killed him, even as it picked up around 12 people for questioning following raids this morning on three properties in Randwick Park .

They are on the lookout for three men captured on the store’s security footage, one of whom was brandishing a .22 calibre rifle, and a fourth man who drove their getaway car. (ANI)
