Indian Railways technical delegation to visit ChinaFebruary 3rd, 2009 - 5:44 pm ICT by ANI
New Delhi, Feb 3 (ANI): A high-level technical delegation headed by Minister of State for Railways Dr. R. Velu will visit China from February 4 to 8 to have an exchange of ideas on the issues of high speed railway network, world class railway stations and logistics parks.
The delegation includes three technical officers from Ministry of Railways from works Planning, Signalling and Finance Divisions.
Indian Railway is planning large investments in these areas and exchange of ideas with Chinese Railway officials.
This visit would help in delivering such schemes in India in a more cost-effective and timely manner.
This visit is in pursuance of the Memorandum of Understanding on technical cooperation signed between the Chinese and Indian Railways in the presence of the Prime Ministers of the two countries in China in January 2008. (ANI)
