Indian National Lok Dal rejoins NDA

New Delhi, Oct 12 (ANI): With an objective to push the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) out of power, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on Sunday rejoined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and announced that it will contest the coming Lok Sabha elections in Haryana with the BJP.
BJP President Rajnath Singh, senior BJP leader L K Advani and INLD supremo Om Prakash Chautala, while announcing the tie up in New Delhi, said, The main objective of the alliance is to push the Congress-led UPA out of power.
However, they did not mention about the number of seats they will contest in Haryana.
Chautala said, “The alliance is not based on preconditions. In 1998 too I had extended support to Atal Bihari Vajpayee without any conditions attached.”
Rajnath Singh, while talking about the future of the alliance, said, “INLD is an uncompromising, anti-Congress force. The alliance will ensure that Congress is voted out of power.”
Chautala, who claimed that the Congress has vitiated the political atmosphere of the country, said, “Together we will cleanse the atmosphere.
INLD, the principal opposition party to the ruling Congress in Haryana, had snapped ties with NDA in February 2004. (ANI)
