Mumbai, Dec 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) An Indian has officially been named as the “world’s shortest woman.” At the height of just 62.8 centimeters, Jyoti Amge has the reach of the average two-year-old but in fact she celebrated her 18th birthday on Friday. With that, the Guinness World Records has entered her as the world’s shortest woman.

Jyoti aspires to be in Bollywood and she revealed that she is currently studying to get her high school degree. She plans to go to the university and get a degree before heading to Bollywood. During the ceremony to officially enter her into the Guinness World Records, about 30 family members and other friends came around to witness.

Jyoti, who is from the town of Nagpur in the state of Maharashtra, appropriately told reporters that, “I have put Nagpur on the world map. Now everyone will know where it is.”

Jyoti is taking over from American Bridgette Jordan who has held the title since September. Jyoti’s recognition could be considered a step forward because she has been the world’s shortest teenager for years until she turned 18.

Even with her diminutive size, Jyoti is still 1.8 centimeters taller than the shortest woman who ever lived, Dutchwoman Pauline Musters (1876-1895).
