Indian army chief to visit US to enhance defence cooperation

New Delhi, Mar 4(ANI): In the light of enhanced defence cooperation between India and the United States, over the last five years, Indian Army Chief, General VK Singh will visit the United States from March 7.

The visit is being undertaken after two years.

The ongoing defence cooperation between both countries comprises - equipment procurement, exchange of delegations and joint military exercises.

During the visit, the Army Chief will visit important establishments of the US Armed Forces and meet a number of high ranking defence and civilian officials. He is also due to be inducted into ‘The Hall of Fame’ at the Army War College of which he is an alumnus

The visit is aimed at diversifying, army-to-army cooperation in the field of training, exchange of experts in the field of mutual interests, attendance in seminars and participation in sports and adventure activities.

The ongoing military cooperation between India and the US is bound to grow as India plans to spend billions of dollars for modernising the defence equipments. (ANI)
