India working to solve border issue with China
January 18th, 2010 - 5:13 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Jan 18 (ANI): Minister of State for Defence MM Pallam Raju on Monday said the government is working to resolve the border dispute with China.
After paying a visit to the National Cadet Corps (NCC) camp here, Raju reassured that India is prepared to protect itself.
Raju said one of the key issues facing India’s security forces today is the country’s relationship with China.
“The fact again for the record is that China and India have a growing relationship in trade which is the positive side. I think in the bilateral relationship, one of the issues, which need to be sorted out, is the difference in the perception of the border. That is being worked on,” he added.
“We all know these infiltration attempts are going on. They show an increasing trend as the snow melts because it makes easier for infiltrators to come across the border but we are adequately prepared and we are there to guard the nation.” said Raju.
Last year, India bolstered its defence on the unsettled China border with the deployment of up to 50,000 troops and a Su-30 fighter aircraft at a base in the northeast. (ANI)
