Nagpur, Nov 6 (ANI): India has won the toss and elected to bat in the fourth and final Test in Nagpur against Australia on Thursday.

Security measures have been tightened at the Vidarbha Cricket Association ground, which will host the match, with closed circuit cameras and hundreds of policemen swarming around the venue.

” Around 650-700 policemen, including two officials of the level of Superintendent of Police, will be on guard in areas adjacent to the stadium. The stadium will be monitored by CCTVs and 200 plainclothes policemen are being deployed.

There would be anti-sabotage checking and no outsiders would be allowed in the vicinity of the players. We took control of the stadium on Wednesday evening,” said Chaggan V. Wakre, Superintendent of Police of Nagpur rural.

Australia trails India 1-0 in the four-match series going into Thursday’’s encounter at the new stadium. The world’’s top ranked team is looking to avoid their first series defeat in three years, added Wakre.

Australia has not lost a series, at home or away, since the 2005 Ashes in England.

India won the second Test at Mohali by 320 runs. The first and third Tests were drawn. (ANI)
