India signs social security agreement with GermanyOctober 9th, 2008 - 8:35 pm ICT by ANI
New Delhi , Oct 9 (ANI): India and Germany signed a social security agreement here today.
The agreement paves way for Indian nationals working in Germany to be exempted from making any social security contribution on short-term basis.
It also waives off the social security period for four years and is extendable by another year.
German nationals working in India will also receive similar benefits on a reciprocal basis.
The Agreement was signed by the Secretary, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs K. Mohandas and visiting State Secretary of the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs Franz-Josef Lersch-Mense and German Ambassador to India, Bernd Muetzelburg. (ANI)
