India concerned over climate change

New Delhi, Oct.15 (ANI): The Union Cabinet on Thursday endorsed the global concern over climate change and termed it as one of the most important challenge that needs to be tackled by the entire world.
“Climate change is one of the most important challenges currently facing the world. It will continue to be major problem due to its long term impact on sustainable development,” said Information and Broadcasting minister Abmika Soni while briefing the media about the Cabinet meet held in the national capital.
Ministry of Environment and Forests will organise the international conference and exhibition, which will provide an opportunity to the developed and developing countries to showcase their climate-friendly technologies as well as services.
Soni said that the two-day conference, which begins October 22 (Thursday), will emphasise on several issues relating to the climate change.
“Economic and social strategies specifically designed to tackle this challenge are necessary since climate change affects all aspects of society,” said Ambika Soni.
The conference will bring together accomplished experts from India and abroad to share their perspectives on issues relating to technology development and transfer in the context of climate change. (ANI)
