By Ravinder Singh RobinRaja Sansi (Punjab), Feb.10 (ANI): Minister of State for External Affairs Perneet Kaur on Wednesday advocated Government of India’s move to hold talks with Pakistan saying that the talks are necessary and India has always wished to maintain cordial relationship with its neighbours which includes Pakistan; the most immediate neighbour. Talking to Asian News International at the Raja Sansi Airport, Perneet Kaur said: “India wants peaceful situation in its neighbourhood for progress and it is also in favour of Pakistan. About the steps so far taken by Pakistan with regard to Mumbai terror attacks, Kaur said: “They have made few steps regarding 26/11 and we want them to go further. We want them to take concrete actions at the same time. I think, the talks are necessary.”Kaur, however, said India remains firm on its position that it would not tolerate terrorism born out of Pakistani soil.Notabaly, India and Pakistan’s foreign secretaries are likely to meet next week.On Wednesday, Perneet Kaur returned to India after a three-day tour to Turkmenistan, where she signed two Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs). While describing her visit to Turkmenistan successful, Kaur said: “It was considered a good round of preparations since the President of Turkmenistan is likely to visit India in the first week of May.”During Kaur’s visit to Turkmenistan, both the countries signed two MoUs in the filed of Information and Technology.Besides, during these talks Kaur asked about the need to have a joint working group to curb terrorism. The President of Turkmenistan stated that they value the old and traditional relationship with India, Kaur informed. (ANI)
