India among fastest growing economies in world: PM Manmohan Singh

Ahmedabad, Mar.27 (ANI): Motivating management graduates to become global leaders at the 46th annual convocation of the countries top Business school, Indian Institute of Management- Ahmedabad (IIM-A), Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that India is among the fastest growing economies in the world.
Singh said that India was one of the best performing economies when the world was hit by a financial crisis.
He said: ” We have left behind the era of modest savings, low investment and low rates of growth. India is today among the world’s fastest growing economy. Our savings and investment rates give us confidence that we can with prudent policies and sound economic management achieve sustained double digit growth.”
He also recognized the emergence of rural India as a potential participant in the country’s growth story. (ANI)
