Srinagar, Jan 4 (IANS) A road safety week in frozen Leh where temperatures are a bone-chilling low of minus 18 degrees at night, attracted cheerful and obliging crowds!

The authorities in Leh town of Ladakh region Wednesday organized a road safety awareness campaign when the temperatures were anything but teeth clattering in the town and yet the residents of the town happily obliged.

Local district magistrate, district police chief, representatives of different transport unions and even school children and elders braved the extreme cold to attend the drill.

Leaflets and stickers highlighting traffic safety measures were distributed among the local drivers/ commuters and the general public during the drill.
