Implementation of republic main agenda of CA: Maoist leader Bhattarai
May 6th, 2008 - 10:48 pm ICT by admin - Send to a friend:Kathmandu, May 6 (ANI): Senior Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-M) leader Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai on Tuesday said that implementation of a republic will be the main agenda of the first sitting of the Constituent Assembly (CA).
He was speaking at a programme in Kathmandul today to mark the 108th anniversary of Gorakhapatra daily, Bhattarai also claimed that there will be no continuation of any forms of monarchy in the country.
Our main agenda is to implement a republic by dissolving the monarchy through the first meeting of the CA, kantipur quoted Bhattarai, as saying.
The Maoist leader also denied allegations that he along with some other Maoist leaders were in favour of continuation of monarchy.
When informing about that discussions were going on with other parties for co-ordination in the formation of the next government, Bhattarai said that the next government will be a coalition government under Maoist leadership.
Stating that long lasting peace cannot be established in the country without focusing on economic agendas, he added that the Maoist leadership will focus on economic agendas. (ANI)
