IIM- Bangalore records large number of placements
November 13th, 2009 - 5:25 pm ICT by ANIBangalore, Nov 13 (ANI): PD Jose, chairperson, placement cell of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B) has said that the institute has placed its 349 students in a record time of five days.
Despite the economic slowdown, a significant number of companies came in large numbers for the placements, he said.
“I think last year was tough for everybody. But I have to say that regular recruiters still came last year, recruited though in small numbers. They have come back this year and recruited in larger numbers,” said Jose.
“This year we had actually the largest batch so far at IIM (B) about 349 students being placed. So this has been a large group and we have placed them in a record time of about five days,” Jose added.
Last year 120 companies visited the campus but this year the number increased to 150.Companies like Goldman sachs and consulting companies are the hot favourites of the students, but this time, there is also an eye on the real estate and infrastructure sectors. (ANI)
