Agartala, Dec 2 (ANI): Tripura Director General of Police, KTD Singh, has said that Harkat-ul-Jihadi-e-Islami (HuJI) is helping militants to creep into the country via Indo-Bangladesh porous border, as inflitrationfrom the western border has become very difficult.
With the western border of India getting difficult, Islamic fundamentalist are now using the long porous border of Indo-Bangladesh to sneak into the country, Singh told reporters here.
He further said that despite of the changing scenario in Bangladesh, militants are still taking shelter in that country.
Coming down heavily on the Bangladesh Government for doing enough to contain mushrooming of anti-India militant camps in that country, Singh said that they carried out fewer raids, but they were all done after leaking prior information to militant groups.
He said the outlawed All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) and the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) maintain more than 30 camps in Bangladesh and they are in constant touch with other bigger terror groups like United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) and National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-IM).
Admitting that there was a drop in militant activities in the state, Singh said that they might increase in the run up to the assembly elections. (ANI)
