New Delhi, Jan.30 (ANI): The Government on Friday denied media reports that suggested the Ministry of Home Affairs issued an advisory to the Maharashtra Government about a hijacking threat. It said no such advisory was issued.
According to an official spokesman of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA): No such advisory has been issued to the Government of Maharashtra. However, in the run-up to the Republic Day celebrations and threats of possible activities by terrorist, insurgent and extremist groups, the State Governments had been requested to maintain highest degree of vigilance to prevent all such activities.
A statement was also issued by ministry, cautioning people and seeking their co-operation. It said there was no need for panic. (ANI)
