Hoax call causes panic in Uttar Pradesh Assembly
March 1st, 2009 - 8:53 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Lucknow, Mar 1 (ANI): Panic gripped the Uttar Pradesh State Assembly on Sunday morning after an anonymous phone caller informed about a bomb planted in the Assembly premises.
Security forces cordoned off the area and extensive checking was carried out following the phone call.
An unidentified caller told the police control room that a bomb had been kept in the Vidhan Sabha Bhavan building. The bomb disposal squads reached the spot, a police official said.
All the doors of the Vidhan Bhavan were closed and security forces cordoned off the area an extensive checking was carried out, he added.
Police were making attempts to find out the whereabouts of the anonymous caller who caused panic here. (ANI)
