Hizb Battalion Commander killed in Pulwama
November 16th, 2009 - 10:45 pm ICT by ANIPulwama (Jammu and Kashmir), Nov 16: A Battalion Commander (BC) of the Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) was killed in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.
According to the police, in the wee hours of Monday an encounter took place between militants and 53 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) at village Sangarwani.
The village falls under the jurisdiction of Rajpora Police Station.
During the encounter one militant identified as Rehman Gorsie alias Aqib-ul-Islam, a self-styled HM Battalion commander was killed.
According to last reports recieved, the area had been cordoned off and search was on. (ANI)
