London, Oct 6 (ANI): The one and only complete chain of office from the period of Henry VIII is expected to fetch 300,000 pounds when it is auctioned by Christies in London next month.
The chain of office is a collar, which is usually made of gold and worn as insignia of office or a mark of support.
The Coleridge Collar, is thought to have been given by the king to Sir Edward Montagu, one of his closest advisers.
The Collar was made in 1546 and has never been auctioned before, reports Times Online
Sir Edward, executor of the kings will and governor to his son and heir, Edward VI, is thought to have received the collar on his appointment to the role of Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas. (ANI)
