Hello may soon be history for Brit phone usersJune 13th, 2008 - 5:34 pm ICT by ANI
London, June 13 (ANI): It seems that the traditional Hello is losing its charm among Britons, when it comes to answering the phone.
A new poll has found that the customary greeting has given way to “Hi”, “Yo” or “What’s up?” especially among 18 to 24-year-olds, reports the Mirror.
A third confessed answering mobiles with casual phrases as caller-identification shows them who is ringing.
Four in 10 of 2,000 people quizzed for a Post Office survey said that texting was also responsible for less formality over the phone.
However, seven per cent have now changed their habits by screening landline calls, the survey found. (ANI)
