Heath Ledger’s Joker toys sell out in minutesMay 7th, 2008 - 5:55 pm ICT by admin
Washington, May 7 (ANI): The toys, which depict late actor Heath Ledger’s character of joker action figure in the upcoming Batman sequel The Dark Knight, were sold out within minutes of them going on sale.
Batman fans lined up early to clear shelves having the 9.99 dollars toy, which shows Ledger in his final completed role before his death in January from an accidental drug overdose.
“There are none left in the warehouse. You will be waiting a while if you want one,” Contactmusic quoted an employee of Times Square’s Toys R Us store, as saying.
Some devotees of the character are believed to be buying up stock, and others are selling them on auction site eBay for up to 55 dollars each.
Ledger will be seen portraying the character alongside Christian Bale’s Batman in The Dark Knight - which hits movie theatres worldwide this July. (ANI)
